Co-Host - Jerry Langford
Jerry Langford is an unusual guy with an equally unusual background. In 1988, Jerry got his first job in radio as the announcer for a friend’s weekly sports show.Steve Kerr was an innovative blind sportscaster at the time and he paid Jerry $25 to “voice” the liners for his weekly show.Jerry couldn’t believe someone would actually pay him to talk!Up to that point, he’d been talking for free all his life.
So Jerry seized the opportunity to work at the local Christian music station in Austin, Texas.Within weeks, Jerry was hosting the daily Morning Show at KNLE 88.1 FM.A few years later, Jerry switched to KIXL 970 AM and hosted a daily afternoon talk show.Jerry brought his usual craziness to the conservative Christian Talk format and really shook things up.
After several years of Talk Radio success, Jerry was recruited by the nation’s largest Christian radio network to be their National News and Public Affairs Director. So he moved his family to Southern California and joined Salem Communications.A couple of years later, Jerry became the Executive Director (and occasional co-host) for Compassion Radio, a daily program airing on Christian stations around the country.Compassion Radio raised support for orphanages, international ministries, disaster relief, and raised awareness of the persecuted Church around the world.
Evidently unable to hold a steady job for more than a few years, these days Jerry can be heard on Christian Teaching Radio K-Wave 107.9 FM in Southern California. But he’s genuinely excited to be a part of the new CCM-Radio Show. After 20 years in Christian broadcasting, Jerry recognizes the important influence of Christian music in his own life.He is thankful that his children had the opportunity to grow up singing along with the music of Steven Curtis Chapman, Rich Mullins, Crumbacher, Bryan Duncan, First Call, 4Him, Al Denson, and countless other Christian artists.Jerry hopes his involvement at CCM-Radio will honor and show appreciation to the artists who helped establish the CCM format and continue to shape it today.
Jerry also asked us to add that he’s an award-winning sand castle sculptor, part-time Christian illusionist, and that he enjoys puppies and long walks on the beach.

Executive Producer - Mark "The Shark" Christian

Mark 'The Shark'
Mark “The Shark” Christian
As a young guy, I was running around the Christian family household interviewing things like the family cat, and the noisy blender, when mom was using it.I got quite good at interviewing inatimate objects as a young aspiring radio dude. Then I found a bigger challenge-HUMANS.Wow. They were more of a challenge. And they actually answered the questions I asked.SO, now I had a focus in life-I wanted to talk to people and loved music. So-where did that lead me?
Well, it became a budding Radio career.Sure, I went to school and got my A.A. in Communications at Fullereton College, but it was my first job in broadcasting that sealed my radio career’s fate!
KYMS- America’s First Christian Rock Radio Station (according to the Federal Communications Commission’s reports) was conveniently positioned in OrangeCounty, Ca. and just 3 1/2 miles from my home in Garden Grove. After my 5 years with KYMS and meeting my radio Mentor, Engineer Tom Koza who inspired me to look more intothe Engineering side of radio, I went on to work under such call letters as:KPZE, KEZY (where I picked up the On-Air name Mark”The Shark”), KTBN, KBPK, KFSH, KKLA, KWVE, KLAA, and start my own little Production Company called Pukashell Productions, thanks to a wonderfull Hawaiian commedian named
Johnnathan “Kamaka” Brown who allowed me to produce my first production and Kamaka’s first commedy album.I love ya’ Kamaka and Andy Trask!
From there I was having fun meeting new artists in the CCM format and keeping in touch with the older (or shall we say “seasoned”) Christian Music Artists who we weren’t hearing from as often enough as I would liked to have.So in early ‘94 I started a radio program called Classic Christian Music, or CCM-RADIO. This allowed me to interface with tough but nice music managers like Ray Ware, and the likes of Sparrow Records and Maranatha Music who allowed me to make contact with the artists who had been around since the inception of a format called, “Jesus Music or later as it became known as Contempoprary Christian Music (CCM format).
So, over the years CCM-RADIO has come into its own with two of the fastest talkers in the west and fellow CCM Music appreciaters Kenny Metcalf and Jerry Langford who have been in Christian Music for many years as well as J.J. Black (Jymi Stewart) our Production and Editor expert and sweet little Kim Loy our P.R. person and Photographer. They have come to CCM-RADIO and have put a new face on the Classic Christian Music archives and help to keep these favorite sons (and daughters) of Contemporary Christian Music remembered and transitioned into a special category of this music format called Classic Christian Music Artists. They will forever be remembered as the face of this format as it changes and grows.
To steal a line out of the movie “The Jazz singer” If you don’t know where you came from, how can you possibly know where you are going?!”
I believe that and it is my duty to keep my friends and pals in the Christian music radio biz remembered if it’s the only thing I do in this life.
